Evan Crawford (baseball)
Evan Shane Crawford (born September 2, 1986) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent.
==Amateur career==
Crawford was born in Prattville, Alabama and went to Prattville High School, where he led his team to an Alabama state-record with 47 wins and a state 6A runner-up. He threw 2 no-hitters, was the team's best hitter his senior year, and Perfect Game USA ranked him #88 out of the top 1000 HS players, and was the 8th best left-handed pitcher. Despite this, he was not drafted out of high school, and went on to Auburn University.
In his freshman year at Auburn, in 2006, he went 5-8 with a 4.35 ERA. He played in the Cape Cod Baseball League with Yarmouth—Dennis, going 0-1 with a 6.43 ERA. In his sophomore year, he went 5-6 with a 5.91 ERA. He again played in the Cape Cod League, this time with Harwich, going 1-0 with a 0.67 ERA in 16 relief appearances. In his junior season, he went 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA in 29 appearances, exclusively in relief. He was drafted in the 8th round of the 2008 MLB Draft, 249th overall, by the Blue Jays.
